It's been a very very long time in coming, but our next CD is finally in. More Than This is Offering’s fourth full-length release and contains original arrangements of twelve of our favorite cover songs. Songs include U2’s “With or Without You”, Sixpence None The Richer’s “I’ve Been Waiting”, and a haunting arrangement of Sarah McLachlan’s “Angel” with vocals by Jeanine and Offering-friend (and Moruza-lead singer) Leslie Dripps. Jeanine's vocals give a poignantly gritty edge to well-known classics and unknown gems alike. Rich string arrangements complement driving guitars, launching the listener on an acoustic rock journey to make music make a difference.

A few weeks ago we started our fourth full-length recording project! The new CD will consist of our own arrangements of covers - some well-known, like Black horse & the cherry tree and Time after time,, and some fairly little-known, such as About God and Simple together, - and we hope to have it in our (and your) hands sometime this Summer!

Jeanine has been writing feverishly, and with great passion, updating several blogs across the web. But, of course, one of these blogs resides on our own site, and another one is Cool Music Resources. The latter is a blog with all kinds of resources for anyone working in the music world, while the blog on this site is of course our band blog. We'd love for you to check them out!

After a wonderful and busy year, we want to wish everyone a safe and happy end of 2008, and a wonderful start to 2009! We hope to see many of you often in the new year!

Thanks to our amazing designer and photographer DJ Glisson and with help from our very own Chris Guidry, Offering has the amazing new home on the internet that you are looking at right now! Offering – well, part of Offering: Jeanine, Kim, Greg, Mark, and Jonathan – will be live on the air with Bill Bevins and Shelly Perkins at Lite 98 tomorrow, Thursday December 4 from 7-8:15 am. Tune in and listen to some great live acoustic Christmas music!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Tomorrow – aka Black Friday – we are playing at one of our favorite places in Richmond: Art Works. We’ll be there from 1 pm on throughout the evening, and Art Works will be a great way to escape the craziness of the malls and at the same time get some amazing Christmas shopping done – anything from jewelry, hats and scarves, bowls and platters, notecards, calendars, paintings, Christmas ornaments….. you name it, it will be there, reasonably priced – and unique!

DJ Glisson and Chris Guidry have been working hard for the past few months at redesigning Offering's website - and it looks like the end is in sight! The design looks fantastic, most building blocks are in place, we're just trying to iron out a few issues and hope to unveil the new site within the next two weeks!

As a follow-up to Arts in the Alley, this coming Friday Offering is hosting a similar, but this time indoors event called “Arts in Action: Music and Murals” at Common Groundz. We will be playing some great music, and painting murals on Common Groundz’ booths and walls! Come, grab some coffee and a paint brush….. and join us!

This coming weekend Offering is playing no fewer than four times – leading worship for Southside Church of the Nazarene’s annual women’s retreat in Fredericksburg, and providing music for the Silent Auction/reception for John Tyler Community College at the Country Club of Virginia.

During A=Arts in the Alley this past weekend more than 150 volunteers painted 26 murals in Walnut Alley and Whitlock Alley. The alleys now look like an outdoor art gallery!

The coming weekend Offering and volunteers from all over the Metro Richmond area will be cleaning up two downtown alleys in Shockoe Bottom (on Saturday August 23) and painting murals in the same alleys (on Sunday August 24). It’s called Arts in the Alley, a family-friendly event, so come join us – we will be at Walnut Alley & 17th, right next to the Richmond Farmer's Market.

During last week's Christmas in July food drive we collected more than 3000 lbs of canned goods/nonperishable food items to benefit the Central Virginia Food Bank! Thank you to all who contributed! And please remember, the needs are still there, and the Food Bank can use your donations all year round!

This afternoon (Wednesday July 23) Jeanine will spend an hour in the AFR studios with Jimmy G, talking about Christmas in July during the afternoon commute. Thanks Jimmy!

Jeanine will be joining Jack and Jen at Mix 103.7 FM Tuesday July 22 in the first part of their morning show (right after 7 am) to talk about Christmas in July. Jack & Jen ROCK!

Mark your calendars for Christmas in July! Now that the Fourth of July is behind us, it's time to start thinking about Christmas in July - Offering's third annual marathon Christmas concert/food drive benefiting the Central Virginia Food Bank. Friday July 25 we'll play at the Braves, and Saturday July 26 from 1-10 pm at the Positive Vibe Cafe. Come enjoy great Christmas music, help people in need (bring peanut-butter and caned tuna, specifically), and if you are able to join us on Saturday - support the Positive Vibe Cafe!
